This page explains where the school information on The School Chronicles comes from, how we check it, and how others may use it.
Where school information comes from
- Board directories: affiliation number, school code, address, level and year established (for example, the CBSE affiliation directory).
- Schools’ own publications: fee structures, admission notices, mandatory public disclosures, prospectuses and official websites.
- Government notices: admission schedules, fee rules and orders from education departments.
- Schools and readers: updates sent to us, which we verify against an official source before publishing.
- Photos: official photos sent by schools, or images with a free licence (such as Wikimedia Commons), always credited.
How we check and present it
- Fees are converted to a yearly figure per stage so schools can be compared fairly; each profile shows when fees and admissions were last checked.
- Results are shown exactly as published by the school or board. We do not calculate rankings.
- Lists are alphabetical by default. Schools cannot pay for a better position or to change their information.
- Where we are not sure of a detail, we leave it out rather than guess.
Corrections and updates from schools
Schools can ask us to correct or update their page through our contact form, ideally from an official school email address and with a link to the source document. We aim to review requests within five working days.

Personal data
